The old adage that 'books are sold one book at a time' is very true, and through my base of friends and fans, I'm able to get my message out. There is another old but very wise saying employed by good public relations professionals: 'Don't tout your own horn -- let others do it for you.

You just released Thou Torturest Me, a sequel to your debut novel, Upcountry. What were the challenges associcated with producing a sequel? I can't speak for other authors, but in my case, after I created a number of characters and taken them through the ringer -- as I did in Upcountry -- I wanted my readers to find out what happened to them.
- Piano Quartet no. 1 in G minor, op. 25: Movement 2.
- Die Rückkehr des Fahlen - die weltweite Machtergreifung des Phönix (German Edition)!
- P-47 Pilots - The Fighter-Bomber Boys.
- Shropshire Folk Tales (Folk Tales: United Kingdom)?
- The Rule of the Secular Franciscan Order?
- Kings, Queens and Pawns (The Chess Peace Series)?
At the same time, in my case, I didn't want to just pick up where Upcountry left off. I wanted to break some new ground. That is why I decided to introduce several new and related characters with a story that ties the books together.
Where I think I broke new ground was with the themes of my books. If Upcountry's theme was spousal and parental abuse, Thou Torturest Me deals squarely with bigotry and prejudice, with a healthy dose of principle thrown in.
Words: 89, Language: English. Published: October 27, A couple of young lovers from completely disparate walks of life set in motion a violent clash of cultures fueled by prejudice, principle and passion. Words: , Published: January 11, Jane Schumacher is shepherding her charismatic boss towards the White House. But after visiting her doctor, Jane returns to her upcountry hometown only to discover her sister is the victim of spousal abuse.
A riveting story of sibling strife, grief and redemption.
